Our Story

Project HOPE was born out of the simple desire to help those in need.

In 2019 Taylor Gorick and Steve Pomerleau felt compelled to do more for others, particularly those less fortunate. A long conversation in late November lead to a plan and eventually a social media post. From there Project HOPE hit the ground running as community members reached out to donate and help. Within less than three weeks enough donations were collected to assemble 100 care packages for the homeless, each containing over 30 items. On December 7th Taylor, Steve, and a small team of friends and family distributed all of the packages to homeless individuals on the streets of Windsor.

The entire four week experience was eye-opening and at the same time overwhelming. Taylor and Steve were both deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from their community, but also incredibly saddened and forever changed by the extreme need they witnessed on distribution day.

After reflecting on the success of Project HOPE 2019 Taylor and Steve agreed that Project HOPE must carry on for years to come and so here we are.

Project HOPE Windsor Essex is now a registered not for profit incorporation, ready to continue growing in order to help more individuals and create positive change in the Windsor Essex community.
